ALPHA 001 - 19 December 2008

Alright so I've gotten a semi-rushed version out for you all to laugh at while I'm away for 2 weeks. I apologize in advance for whatever bugs you find.

Some things to note:
  • The save code in there is a temp one and WILL be replaced in the final version so don't go farming for items (lol). It is the same code as 1.1M but please don't load your chars from that as I haven't gotten around to redoing all the items so a lot of the ones you load will be bugged.
  • Crabs, Turtles, Makrura and Warlocks are currently the only creeps that drop items. Sorry, I just didn't have enough time to do the rest.
  • The Trapper, Necromancer and Warlock are currently disabled and a few heros are missing some skills (mainly Archers). Some skills may also function differently to what their tooltips say.
  • There are no herbs so WD shouldn't really be played either :p
There's probably more but I can't think of it right now.

ALPHA 002 - 22 December 2008

A lot of fixes from 001:
  • Redid the save/load code from 001; it's now a very simple one that will only be in for the alphas (it's different from the 001 one so you'll have to start fresh). Again, don't go farming items :p
  • Hydras, Naga, Revs and Skellies are the only creeps that DO NOT drop items.
  • Added a few more skills so that almost all the heros have a full set (HE Archer, NE Archer, DotC and Sentinel are still missing 1 each). Some of this is due to me being too lazy to code something (NE Archer and Senty) :p
  • Hopefully (fingers crossed) fixed the server split bug on revival (as well as a few other possible ones I had in there xD)
  • Creeps can move further now so they wont run away as much.
  • Figured out why herbs weren't being placed at map init so now the Witchdoctor is a go.
Other stuff:
  • New minimap! But you all should have already seen that.
  • Necro and Warlock are still disabled (sorry, I'll get on this soon, promise).
  • As you may have noticed, the Headhunter had a lot of the Trappers skills. This was intentional as I've replaced him (Trapper) with the Forest Troll Shadow Priest. That's right, a brand new hero! Hope you all like him
Again, I've probably missed a shit load of stuff that I've changed but forgotten.



EDIT: There was a tiny bug with the camera in 002, so I'm going to replace the file. Only 2 people have DLed the bugged version so hopefully noone will notice :p

ALPHA 003 - 22 December 2008

A few minor fixes from 002:
  • Lesser salves are purchasable again
  • Starting armors will load now (also fixed a couple of items that were loading as different ones)
However the main purpose of this version is for me to be able to hopefully find the desync that's causing the random DCs.

NB: If you play as pink, you'll get a lot of debug messages.

ALPHA 004 - 02 January 2009

Finally, thanks to Oppi and Ravenwrath, we have the desync bug located and fixed (well, we will see :p but it should be)
  • Did some work on the Hero Selection, you can now see the skills before you pick a hero
  • Necro's back in with a basic AI for his skellies (might be updating it later on, we'll see)
  • Troll Regeneration has had some Mana regeneration added to it to make it better
  • A few other minor balance tweaks to some heros
  • More work done on the save/load triggers: you now load with the proper hp and skill points and fixed some possible screw ups/abuses
  • Added some single player only testing commands (-level, -gold, -gems) to help you out
  • Increased the creep camp range by a lot it should hopefully be better now
  • Added Cheese to the second island
  • Done some reworking of the drop tables so that things don't drop as much and easy creeps don't drop the good items anymore
Probably a whole bunch more that I've forgotten about :p

ALPHA 005 - 08 February 2009
  • Added drops for the Naga, Skeleton Fighters
  • Revamped the exp tables
  • Added some more AI back in:
    • Level 7 Murlock: Hex
    • Level 9 Warlock: Cripple and Monsoon
    • Hellfire
    • Hydromancer
    • Naga Siren
  • Reduced gem cost to 150
  • Reworked the Revive system so you now have an option to not revive (when waiting for a priest)
  • Fixed a bug with Resurrection that could cause your hero to not revive without Resurrection
  • Fixed the DotT Storm Crow Form bug
  • Various item stat fixes/recolours/costs
  • Fixed various items that could not be worn
  • Removed the starting Cinematic
  • Made huts fade over time when you burn them
  • Disabled the Final Quest for the time being (although it didn't work anyway)
  • Witchdoctor changes:
    • Herbalism: You can now stack herbs in your backpack (no longer just pick up stacks)
    • Potion Brewing: You can now brew potions using herbs from your backpack as well
  • Nerfed Necromancers Skeletons
  • Nerfed Mages Fire Ball and Shadow Priests Agony and Shadow Strike
  • Fixed Dryads Paralysis so that it's actually useful now
  • Fixed a bug where your corpse could run away (hopefully)
  • Fixed some acquisition range bugs caused by shapeshifting
ALPHA 005b - 08 February 2009

Three minor bug fixes and one big one:
  • Herbalism wasn't allowing the backpack to stack herbs
  • Potion Brewing wasn't taking into account herbs in the backpack (well, sort of)
  • The revive dialog was creating a "Stay Dead" button for each player in the game, not just one
  • The Shadow Start Jewel Quest wasn't able to be finished

ALPHA 006 - 23 February 2009
  • Added the cancel button back to the save dialog
  • Made dispels (Abolish Magic, Dispel Magic and Purge) deal damage to Animated Units
  • Added two more coins (75 and 100)
  • You can no longer level to 13 (all codes that were 13 will load you at 12 :p)
  • Fixed Bone Scorcher to actually add it's splash damage (removed the splash damage from Fire Root xD)
  • Fixed spell damage on ground only units (Lightning Bolt, Lightning Shield, Earthquake, Trample, War Stomp) so that they now damage amphibious units (Turtles, Murlocks, Naga, Hydras, Hydromancer)
  • Gone back to the old revive system but with 2 new commands "-autorevive on/off". It is on by default
  • Added the ability to choose your rotation to the -rotate command, "-rotate x" where x is between 0 and 360
  • Fixed Spell Damage to actually do 50% damage to Fortified Armor
  • When on the boat, you now only have vision of the boat
  • Fixed some issues with Naga
  • Added retreat ranges to Hydras, Naga and Skellies
  • Nerfed Clarities/Salves and buffed HP/Mana and Replenishment Potions
  • Potion of Mana now has the correct item ability (used to use the Replenishment Potion ability)
  • Fixed the Corpse Movement bug
  • Fixed the Corpse Visibility bug
  • Made the Corpses appearing more smooth
  • Fixed some inconsistencies on Level up/Loaded HP
  • Added some more AI to the Necromancers Skeletons
  • You're now told what level and class people have loaded and what class people have picked if starting new
  • Buffed the Defenders size
  • Fixed the animation glitch caused by using Bash/Swipe while Defending
  • Fixed all hotkey issues with non-English version of wc3
  • Various item rebalances
  • Lowered drop tables yet again, hopefully it wont be as spammy now
  • AI added to the Naga
  • Ancient Hydra now splits into 2 level 9 Hydras upon death again
  • Fixed a bug where Stormreaver huts were destroyed when Red left the game
  • Fixed some of the ruins type rubble that could be walked through
EDIT: Forgot to mention that I also nerfed the crap out of the Twilight Skellies. We'll see how things go, they might need a buff now ^^

ALPHA 006b - 24 February 2009
  • Fixed a typo in the boolexprs (what most AoE spells use to work out what targets they can damage) that would only let them target invulnerable units xD
  • Fixed a bug with the save code that would give you a shorter code (that wouldn't load) if you tried to save no item in any slot
  • Slightly buffed salves and reduced costs of all potions and salves/clara
  • Fixed the -rotate x command
  • Fixed a typo on Dulled Orc Hatchet that caused it to load as Palmwood Staff
ALPHA 006c - 31 October 2009
  • Added the newest minimap picture
  • Now works with patch 1.24
For some god awful reason I don't keep unprotected versions of my release versions so this is a terrible hack of 006b. Hopefully nothing got broken in the process.

ALPHA 007 (Bond) - 04 April 2014

Well this is a massive list since it has taken over 5 years (...) so I am no doubt going to miss some stuff. The major changes are:
  • The Deeplord's Vault has been reopened and is significantly harder
  • The Orcish Warlock is finally playable
  • A buff system which allows much more control over buffs
  • Creeps now retreat and stop retreating better
  • Hellfire, Enraged Stalker and the Hydromancer have new spells
  • 70 new items, with over 40 of them being in the Vault
  • Creeps are now scaled (to keep things difficult) based upon the total levels of heroes in the game
Here are some things that I recorded long before the 007 pre-alphas:
  • Fixed a bug where if you killed Hellfire and then didn't get the quest for ages (or his corpse was used, either for corpse explosion or raise dead) it would not think he was dead
  • Nerfed Crushing Waves mana cost and damage
  • Fixed a bug with the stalkers calling for help :p
  • Lots of work done on AoE skills (mostly line damage ones) to make their area a bit more accurate
  • Made the movement of creeps that are too far from their camp a lot smoother
  • Buffed the damage and mana cost of Explosive Rounds
  • Added the damage back to the Stormreavers Corpse Explosion and made it more like the Necromancers
  • Reworked the projectiles for some spells (Lance, Fire ball, etc) so that they wont blink from one spot to where you cast occasionally)
  • Added a system that gives full control (hero icons + recourse board) when you share control, unfortunately I cannot get it to only show the hero icon (and not the backpack) so it will only show icons for the first few people that share control to you
  • Reworked a lot of creeps armor types
  • Changed all triggered abilities with a random chance to use a weighted random to be more like default wc "random chance" abilities
  • Fixed the Skeleton AI when you order the necromancer to pickup an item
  • Skeletons are now selectable and will ignore all orders you give them
  • Fixed a bug with Brewing Healing Potions
  • Fury of the Wind now has the correct damage and slow at all levels
There are also these changes from the pre-alphas that I recorded.

ALPHA 007b - 07 April 2014
  • Tweaked some of the traps in vault so that they are less frustrating
  • Fixed a graphical bug with chests that died when a soul was on route
  • Altered the runes by Slurp to give fatties an easier time
  • Spell Steal will no longer consider Chests as a transfer target
